I wondered whether the Wii would cut into XBox 360 sales. It makes a great stopgap for those who would have wanted to get the kids a PS/3, but they aren't available, or feel they are currently too expensive.

The PS/2 is still outselling the XBox 360. So, most of those sales are still most logically destined for the PS/3 at some point.

And it seems to me a lot of people buying the add-on already had an HD DVD player. So, the attach rate of that scenario is ZIP, pulling down the effectiveness of those 42K.

The add-ons are easy to get. So, given that the thing was hyped everywhere for eight months, a doubling from here would be pretty good.
