Well, if you are talking about 24fps and are talking about 3D, this means only 12fps for your right eye and 12fps for your left eye. In this case, I do not think that defines as 'full' 3D.

However, if you are talking about 24fps per eye, you will end up with a total of 48fps in 1080p, which the HDMI 1.3(a) specification is not designed for (besides the probable limited bandwith) AFAIK.

Sony is still trying to figure out how to keep their promise regarding their PS3 by changing the 1.3-specs, but it 'could' mean (pure speculation here) that their PS3 can't communicate this with every (older) 1080p display; time will tell if they can hold their promise. For now, all we know that they needed to limit 3D games to only 720p (because of the required higher fps).
