I had a Denon before I got the UMC-1 and there is a difference in the PQ for me. I notice there's a bit more detail and deeper colors than I had with the Denon.
As mentioned, the sound is fantastic, which is the reason I bought it.

I never get that. Of course, I got out my video camera to videotape the strange crackling, but then it works perfectly!!! Every time with anything, when I'm alone, it happens, when I'm trying to show someone, it works just fine. Irritating...I'll get it one of these times.
Once I had it turned up and that crackling made me jump out of my skin and had a headache..yes, it's that loud.
I jumped to my pro as fast as I could and turned it down as fast as humanly possible haha.
