I never get that. Of course, I got out my video camera to videotape the strange crackling, but then it works perfectly!!! Every time with anything, when I'm alone, it happens, when I'm trying to show someone, it works just fine. Irritating...I'll get it one of these times.
Once I had it turned up and that crackling made me jump out of my skin and had a headache..yes, it's that loud.
I jumped to my pro as fast as I could and turned it down as fast as humanly possible haha.

I was just gonna suggest you try playing the same trailer over and over to see if it consistently does it. That might point to what I was saying about the crackling from too high volume from a digital input source. Now I'm not sure what it is.
Who knows, it could be the UMC trying to acquire the signal, but if it suddenly just started that makes me think a setting change. In that case I would still try finding a volume control in your player and make sure it isn't above normal or 0, just to rule that out.
