I dont believe that at all.
I just spent all weekend making an application for the ps2. The 32 megs of ram on that ps2 is flat out stupid. You cant do anything with it. Think about loading debug tools into the ps2 for dev. You cant, because it only has 32 megs of ram. So you cant watch the iop, or run your own program in order to watch it, because ALL of the ram is used in each game.
Sony even understands this problem, and they make Dev PS2s called "TOOLS" that have 128 megs of ram, and other upgrades.
What I am trying to push to sony, is to allow upgrades to the PS3.
Imagine making a game on Blu-Ray, that has 200 GB of data. You can bundle the game, with a 1 gig ram upgrade. That would open up a whole door for marketing, and devolopment. Either way its needed to help programmers make games, and also to allow customers to have better gameplay.
