Yes, Blu-ray does look better than SkyHD, Broadcast quality HD is pretty awful apart from a few BBC shows and Sky Sports HD.
That PS3 must have been expensive what with the not being released here yet.

this list. Tier 0 and Tier 1 titles are always very good.
