A Blu-ray disc may contain any format you mentioned and more. Most hollywood movies are released in 1080p/24, however it is up to the studio/distributor what they resolution they release it on. I'm not sure of all the standrds regarding upscaling, but they will downscale and I think all Blu-ray players on the market can upscale. If the disc is protected (most commercial disc's will be in the future) if not outputed over HDCP (Both DVI and HDMI can support - but not all HDMI or DVI have HDCP) it will be downscaled to approx 480p. The player / display do up/down scaling, there are not a number of different copies in different resolutions on the disc.
