There is no question that the Denon players has a few advantages over the Marantz player. I have summarized the differences in the following table:

Is it worth $1,000? It is a question that you will have to answer. If SACD/DVD-A, BD-Live, and Bragging Rights

are important to you, go ahead and buy it.

I believe the new Oppo BDP-93 at $499 is a better alternative.
