I am currently waiting for new alienware laptop and am also looking at building a new pc with blu ray drive and burner...

Now i know absolutly zero about bd discs and what they can and cannot do???

I have just downloaded some snowboarding bit torrents about 4 gb of 1080 quality which i want to burn to disc and watch on a bd drive either on my laptop or pc.....

So...

Do i have to burn this to a bd disc or can i burn it to a dvd-r disc as the file size is smaller than a full dvd-r disc?? Will the blu ray player still play the disc with full quality in otherwords are bd discs just capable of holding larger quantity of data or is there more to it than that??
