Apparantly the new super hard coating is extremely resistant to marks and scratches. Journo's were given wire wool pads and encouraged to try and scratch the discs but were unable. Permanent markers were also unable to make a mark. Only one journo with a swiss army knife was able to penetrate the coating. Therefore, the belief is that a cartridge is uneccesary. It's also believed that cartridges are unpopular with the general public.
