You are bang on about Bass depth in MAHI ve. Every time I hear that song even on my iPOD i feel the bass is much better than the Movie's mix.

first of all plzz dont call me sir....iam just 17
now coming to sound departments the sound designer's job is to design how the sound will be divided into these 6 or 8 speakers(incl LFE) which of the sounds should be louder whether the mix will be an over aggressive one (as in case of most action movies) all these factors vary according to movies
and the sound engineer/mixer's job is to ultimately mix these sounds and its this sound that we ultimately hear.....his work is influenced by his style and by movie directors and audiographers present there.....
now the thing i like about indian movie mixes all the mixes whether it a drama or romantic or action movie all are too good....because most of our movies are musicals so the mixers get scope to use discrete effects for different instruments and show their creativity accordingly.....i think Indian mixers are the most consistant and best in the world.....not very much of hollywood's non action movies mixes have impressed me....most of them are dull and lifeless.....or the music comes from only front speakers the rear ones just whisper......!
in bollywood the best mixer is leslie fernandes.....he is just awsome....followed by anuj mathur then ajay kumar(pb) anup dev and kuldeep sood (has also done many movies and is quite a senior and experienced person)....!
