Yes USB 3.0 drives do work with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. The problem is some brands and models of flash memory are not compatible with some models of Blu-ray players. Try another USB drive to see if the problem is a flash drive incompatibility. Also make sure the USB flash drive is formatted for FAT32 or FAT16. The player does not support NTFS or ExFAT for BD-LIVE.
