Im intressted in the 100gib(& 200gib) disc for the reasons: tv shows, warnerbros, disney, LOTR
From what i've heard Disney approved the HD DVD tl-51 then asked the BDA when the 100gib disc was coming.
Also it's possible it's two variations currently being tested 4*25 and 3*33 also 6 or 8 layer on the 200gib, hopefully they can also up the 1 & 2 layered disc so they become bigger than hd dvd currently offer on its 2 layer discs (30 gib) ... say 33,3 gib & 66,6 gib then improve the production on these, now im not sure this is possible but hd dvd improved theirs to 17gib so i think it's possible..
When do i expect to see first release? announcment will come at CES 08 i'm counting on a lionsgate 100gib tv-show on blu-ray something like Weeds season 3 announced at CES... hopefully the disc be ready by then & released in march
Warner bros for the reason they only need to print 1 version of every release, just add like 100 audio tracks (all pcm
) and loads of subtitles this i believe could save them money on the manufacturing, hmm ye advantage on LOTR which with extra audio tracks would be a 3 disc*200gib set
