Blu ray discs that are sold in stores will be encoded at 1920X 1080p which is so called true hd . With so much space and ability why settle for less

. But I reckon that there will be downconverters embeded in blu ray players if the screen can't handle such a resolution. There are already some screens that can support 1080p and there will be many more in the months to come and by next year expect every serious tv manufacturer to have a 1080p display for sale.
