Reading your comments, it seems as though you are the type of person that enjoys watching paint dry.
Seriously, I'm surprised that you didn't say, "directors should always cut out any type of conflict that could ever exist between any characters in the story." All of the elements you mentioned help to create and support the conflict that drive the stories being told. I would not have any interest in films if they excluded the elements you mentioned.
