Your PS3 will work just as good as any dvd player that scales. The 'upscale' of the source is to just take it from 480P/i to your monitors native resolution. The problem with these 'upconverting' players is that as long as you have a monitor with at least 720p native rez or higher, they are not doing anything for you. Your monitors scaler is typically much better than most 'upconverting' scalers. Besides, if your dvd 'scales' the source, your monitor is also going to 'scale' the source to its native rez. A double scale is usually a bad combination.
