Got this one off Amazon...

If it happens, but there's too much time to tell. Plus HD DVD is still ahead and basically have had no glitches from the beginning as to where Blu-Ray is still trying to be perfected. Blu-Ray disc players were reading discs too fast and that is why there were jagged outlines on all of the objects and people before. If you look closely you can see it, but it has been improved by Pioneer Elite and Sony. Anyway it's basically up to Microsoft as to who they want to make the software for ie; Paramount. Sony also wants to start making a HD Dvd player with permission because they are not sure which way this is going to go. We all know Sony doesn't want to be out of the race at all as stubborn as they are. If HD DVD is already a flop then why did Onkyo come out with a HD DVD player at $799 and a high-end company like Meridian are coming out with one that will be over$1,000 soon along with a couple others in the makings. If the high-end companies are coming out with HD DVD players then they know something we don't know. None of these high-end A/V companies are even talking about manufacturing a Blu-Ray player because of the glitches they say it might be too risky. The HD DVD has a sharper, more detailed and exactly true to life picture and sound. That's if you know how to set-up your receiver compatible to your HD DVD player and there is a trick to it, which all A/Vphiles know how to calibrate to. Also LCD HDTVs are a sharper and have true colors, like you are right in the movie with better 3D look. LCDs are definitely the future tvs and have topped out in sales in 2007 especially Toshiba by a long shot. That makes the HD DVDs look better on both tvs, but they are compatible to LCDs. Plasmas have a great picture, if you like a lot of color. Blu-Ray is more compatible to Plasmas for the same reason. A Blu-Ray doesn't look as good on a LCD as it does on plasma because it does not have exactly true to life color tones. Al though I don't want to knock it it does still have a good picture, but I've been comparing them within my company since this all started. With the firmware updates on HD DVD players Standard Def DVDs look almost as good as HD DVDs, which is amazing. Before the firmware Standard DVDs looked good, but not as good as they do now with the updates. Rethink your theory before you decide because we don't know where this is going yet. The only thing I don't like is that Blu-Ray has movies that HD DVD doesn't have and vice-versa. That would be the only reason that I would get a Blu-Ray player and add it to my extremely high-end HT system, but with a scaler and possibly a tube buffer. But, I'm happy with what I have right now, so I would probably get the movies that are on Blu-Ray in Standard Def and play them on my HD DVD player since they look so damn good now and the sound effects are still phenomenal in DD.

Good lord
