No, as has been stated, the features that are in 480 are actually on the disc in 480. It saves space on the disc of course. It *is* really annoying when your TV has to try keeping up with the resolution changes in some spots. I haven't tried upscaling any of them though, in fact I have yet to try the PS3's upscaler as I have a pretty decent standalone upscaler that doesn't have any fan noise at all
