Have you ever used one of those bladeless fans. My local Starbucks has one for its employees and they let me come back and feel it. It is quiet as hell and puts out a lot of cool air. It is very nice, but very expensive. I saw a Dyson one for about $350.
Congrats on the fan. My wife hates fans. She grew up with fans and no A/C so she is very anti-fan. I use one when she is not around because I like the feel of cool air.

They basically rotate just like any other fan. I'm mainly using it in the hallway so more air can circulate in the bedrooms. Every room has ceiling fans, but 2 rooms including mine are in sun light during the day and it gets really HOT!
If we put the AC to 78 it will run non stop. If we put it at 79-80, it will run most of the time, and will stop. Other than that, the bill is EXPENSIVE! Living in FL sometimes suck
