Understand that one day the PS3 may get firmware upgrade so that it can upconvert DVDs to 720p/1080i.

If it does, will a Blu-Ray playing on a 1080i TV look any better than a upconverted DVD?

I ask because I bought my High-Def TV prior to 1080p being the norm, so don't see myself getting an upgrade anytime soon. I've thought about getting rid of my DVD versions to upgrade to Blu-Ray, but is it worth it in the end if the picture quality is the same?
