blu-ray has 40mbps for video and 8mbps for audio with abit more for short burst.
hd-dvd has 36mbps for combine video/audio, so if the studio need better audio, they have to cut video.
hd-dvd also have uncompressed audio in their spec, but space won't allow for them.
