I mean in the good Karma ending, [Show spoiler]Cole dies. In the Evil Karma ending [Show spoiler]Cole becomes the Beast and wipes out all humanity leaving only conduits.

Rumor has it the good ending is "canon" (i.e. the official storyline).

[Show spoiler]The good ending has Cole's body being buried at sea on a boat, and there's a lightning strike at the end. It would be plausible to think he could be resuscitated by a bolt of lightning.
