have a look at
http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/jpeg/PIA10214.jpg, which shows the "figure" in context with the solar collectors on the rover. It is close to the rover and incredibly small. There must be leprechauns on Mars.
Remember also that whilst viewing images of Mars you must also factor in that the horizon on Mars is much closer than it is on Earth, so things appear more distant than they really are, as we are acclimatised to viewing on Earth.
Equatorial radius on Earth = 6378 km
Equatorial radius on Mars = 3396 km
Rover width = 2.3 m
Rover length = 1.6 m
