My HDTV in my bedroom is 23", only 1080i, I have 2 upconverted DVD player connected to it plus the PS3, even at 8 feet away from the screen, I can still tell the diff between Blu-Ray with my 2 upconverted DVD player, sharper, more detail, it is very diff. even my TV is just only 1080i, all using HDMI output.

Added: I watched CARS DVD and Blu-Ray. the different is more can be seen
