Most video content - anything shot digitally, no film - is recorded at 1080i60. I believe that "The Company" was one of the first TV programs shot in 1080p24, though I could be wrong. But that was an expensive miniseries, so it would have made sense to do it that way.
Regardless, there is nothing wrong with it being 1080i, because that is the same as the source footage. Its when you have a 1080p source and you watch it at 1080i that you aren't getting the full experience.
