Of course its better, no one said it wasn't. Movies I like enough, I buy on BD. Watching them first, no matter what the resolution, saves me blind buyers remorse. For example I bought The Ten Commandments on release day. That was after seeing it for decades in SD. Seeing it in SD didn't influence my thoughts on if the movie was good or bad enough to buy.
I guess you do realize that NetFlix has movies in HD that aren't out on BD. They also have titles only that are DVD quality that have only been released on VHS so far. So by using your reasoning, I guess that means you should get NetFlix because its better.
