Crackinhedz is correct. Your PS3 will decode the Dolby TrueHD signal and pass that to the Yamaha for amplification. Ditto for uncompressed PCM 7.1 soundtracks. The only thing the PS3 doesn't currently decode is DTS-HD Master Audio, but that is expected in a later firmware upgrade.
You don't need to have the HD decoders in your receiver if the player decodes them. If you feel the need to get the decoders in your receiver, even though the PS3 will not feed them a raw signal to decode, get yourself Yamaha's RX-V1800. It has very similar features and upscaling like the HT-R 6080, but it also comes with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master lossless codecs.
