It's the same with Blu Rays and DVDs in my opinion. If I don't like the packaging, the desire to own the film is not there for me...

Actually, that post was meant for humorous purposes. But I'll explain it for you.
The metaphor broken down into peices and elaborated on:
The packaging=The Attire
The Blu-ray=The beautiful woman
The content on the Blu(the actual film)=Intellectual substance, or as you put it "stupidity"
So this is what I gather from your response. You would be interested in an ugly dumb girl if she dressed nice? Please correct me if I misinterpereted that.
And to clear up your incorrect assumption that you made in the beginning of this post. Yes I would initially be attracted to a woman based upon her phyisical beauty, not her clothing. But that's just a natural human reaction. How many people pass by a brand new Ferrari with out blinking an eye just to have their jaw drop to the floor when an '81 Honda comes around the corner? Anyways, once I meet said beautiful woman she better have something going on upstairs or I'll quickly lose interest no matter how pretty she is.
That being said, I would not pass on a 1080p Blu-ray because I did not like the package and I also wouldn't by a crappy film just because it is in 1080p.
Any questions?
And by the way, I think the Blu-ray cases are rather good looking IMHO.
