I'm not going to get into the statement wording, PirateBooty is taking care of that. But I cannot think of ONE SINGLE example where EITHER a retail store OR PSN dropped the price on a game and the other followed suit within a week. Not ONE. Not EVER. Maybe your area has super-awesome Wal-marts or you have exclusive PS+++ pricing, but the price gaps between retail and digital are pretty atrocious at times, though less so recently. I've seen several times in the past where I could buy a game at retail for 19.99 (not even on sale) and it was 39.99-59.99 on the PSN store, and stayed that way for weeks. There needs to be WAY more digital sales on titles and more frequent price drops on digital titles for me to even CONSIDER buying something digital over physical.
Personally, if this all becomes true about the used games and 1-account locking (I'm still skeptical. It is a Kotaku article, after all), then I'm not going to bother with the new console. I'll keep playing my PS3 until they screw that up, then I'll just dig my N64 back out. The lack of b/c I understand, but the entire used game approach is worse than online passes to me.
