the ps3 as a blu-ray player is future proof. It will be upgradeable to 2.0 (BD-Live) and soon we will have an update for dts-hd ma. Those are the only two things it doesn't have but will get soon. Also, the choppiness is a lie. Madden sucked last year but that will be fixed. All of the other sports games are awesome. Don't worry this year all the sports games will be better han 360. Also MLB the show is way better than 2k baseball. you can't go wrong with the PS3
O yea and the PS3 can do 7.1 as long as you have a 7.1 reciever
