I don't understand the concern that region free players might not being available in the future. An alternative to an all-in-one region free player is to have separate Region A, B, and/or C players. If you're afraid that Region B players won't be around in 5-10 years then you should also be equally concerned about Region A players and thus stop buying blu-ray altogether.
