Georgir Spot on. The only reason I can see for Intel to be pushing HD DVD is that I suspect MS told them that they were backing HD DVD. The last time Intel ventured into the Consumer Electronics arena ended in tears, anyone remember their attemp LCOS (Liquid Crystal On Silicone) or whatever they were calling it.
As for MS they have really been caught wrong footed. All they can hope for under the current arangement is roylaties from one of the codecs. So why not try for what is logically the O/S as well. I hope this is NOT included as they can't get an operating system to behave by itself maybe there will be a new meaning to the Blue screen of death (highly technical computer term for a crash in windows). I guess BDA don't have to negotiate or compromise anymore as HD-DVD may not yet be forgotten but it's certainly in a coma if not dead. It won't be long before the XBox is sporting one of those Blu Ray logo's
