Well, I've heard this in other places, and now its been proven...
300: Love it or hate it. I loved it. People looking for a narrative or a deep plot will be sorely disappointed. 300 is just chock full of testosterone and, well, comic-book storytelling and fighting...imagine that. Expecting anything more from it is like trying to get lossless audio on an HD DVD...it just doesn't work

.
I also loved Casino Royale. IMHO, it is reference quality all around. Absolutely pristine, one of SPHE's best releases to date.
Goodfellas left me disappointed. Many shots looked flat and lacking detail, and some rather severe ghosting in a few instances threw me for a loop. While this BD release was revelation in comparison to all previous DVD releases of the movie, I was just underwhelmed with the whole thing. Same with the audio--the narrators' voices, while very pitchy and almost whiny in real life, still just sounded compressed and lacking the depth that Warner achieved even with the lossy track on March of the Penguins--which was nothing but Morgan Freeman's voice. And then compared to Daniel Craig's monologue to start off Layer Cake--well, lets just Goodfellas came up lacking.
