So it has come down to this. The only thing standing between you and the official reveal of the PlayStation 4 are the numbers you see on this page.

Trust us; this isn't up for debate. CVG can guarantee that the next generation home PlayStation console will be announced in New York on Wednesday. Sources that have confirmed this are numerous, increasing by the day, all connected to Sony and absolutely trusted. It's happening.

Yes, we're hyped. While industry experts irrationally declare the death of the console, you'll see no such attention-seeking cynicism here. We are unashamedly, unreservedly thrilled to usher in a new era of core game systems - and, deep down, we know you are too.

Our PS4 Countdown blog kicks off a week of coverage including analysis of what we know about Orbis (the codename for Sony's next console) and what's likely to be announced in New York.

On February 20 at 6pm Eastern Time (11pm UK) we will stream live video of the PlayStation Meeting right here on this page.

We'll also include our own reactions via a live blog manned by our man in New York, along with a full news team at battle stations offering the fastest stories and finest analysis available.

Get ready. It's just a matter of time now.
Sony Teasing Something Big For February 20th, Possibly PS4

If this isn’t teasing the PS4, it’s one hell of a cheeky troll from Sony. That said, it’s pretty likely that the February PlayStation Meeting will indeed be focused on next generation.

The event will be held in New York in approximately three weeks, and whilst the video below gives little away, there’s enough chatter on Twitter from the likes of Geoff Keighley to suggest Sony are about to kick things up a gear.
