I think it's actually a great dynamic for them to go, because it'll be hard to know just who to root for, and why. I mean, it creates quite the conflict, and that's what's awesome about it.
Stark and Banner definitely had a bromance thing going on, how do you deal with the fact that you may have [Show spoiler]killed your friend's wife, and left him for dead. And how do you react to it when he comes back to settle the score? I think it opens a lot of interesting stories and sides, and I love the idea of it being played out on screen. It could be huge.
Not to mention, Hulk has been a villain for the Avengers, more than once. It's an unfortunate part of being him. People are naturally scared of him, and for decent enough reason, because of all the damage he's done and all the power he has. He really isn't a hero or a villain, he's a guy who wants to be left alone and to find himself. That's what makes the character tick.

So, what you are saying is that
[Show spoiler]the Avengers banish HULK to space. He lands on a planet, becomes ruler of the planet, has a family, and then the Avengers come to that planet and destroy everything on it
?
That could make sense to me. However, my question becomes,
[Show spoiler]how the hell did the Avengers just happen to go to this one planet of all of the planets in the universe and what was their reason for destroying it
?
As you can tell, I never read the comics.
