No, the Tone button is only on the receiver. Well at least it was for me or I couldn't find it on the remote.
I pressed all the buttons on the receiver itself.

This is the temperature at 2 locations inside the receiver, not of the chassis around it. Onkyo hasn't responded yet about what they're for, but I think this may just be a better way then sticking a thermometer on it.
