Is this why you think its not working then because im going from OUT to OUT i thought optical was just a connection didnt think it had out and in.I dont understand those adapters do i put that on the end of my optical calbe and plug it into the coaxial it dosent look the right fit the coaxial looks more like a phono connector

Yes you would use your optical cable to the input on box and a coaxial cable fom the output to the reciever's input. The only way for an optical cable to carry the digital signal is to have an output source connected to an input source. The adapter can go on one end of the optical cable which you would put in the coaxial input and the regular end would go into the PS3. I don't know much about the box, but I just read a customer review on amazon.co.uk and the person said the audio would fade out on it. Hmmm.....for right now try the cable with the adaptor, as it is a more cost effective solution, and if it doesn't work you didn't pay too much for it. However if it does, you saved yourself quite a bit of money. Then set your PS3 to optical out and see if it works. Other than these I know of no other solution. We have an A/V mod named Crakinheadz, who may prove of further assistance to you. Glad I could help.
