Most films released on BD are mastered at 2K (1920 x 1080) even though they are typically shot at 35mm/4K (4096 x 2160). So, some of these 35mm films that are being re-released next month from Sony come from a 4K master instead of a 2K one. I think some were actually mastered in 4K for their initial BD release like The Amazing Spider-Man and Battle: Los Angeles.

The movies being released next month with a 4K master on BD, will they have a higher bitrate digital transfer then other movies on BD ?
