Same here... most of my HDTV recorded files come in TS and TP files.
(especially a lot of Japanese and German HDTV demo videos)
After I renamed them to *.MPG, nearly all have played fine on the PS3.
(but some stubborn ones still won't play... but that's only about 10% of
them)
