Is BD-Live (2.0) Really Worth It? Ehhhhh.... *shrug*
I can't find a single reason why I'd care about BD-Live. Then again, it's hard to find much about the features at all. I haven't rented Saw IV yet or any other BD-Live disc yet, but most of my research has shown a very small, specific set of features for 2.0. As always, they say that ambiguous "and more" when hyping the set, but I can't really imagine why web interactivity is important when it has to be gimped to be usable by a blu-ray remote/PS3 controller.
I imagine that most non-16-year-old-girls don't watch a movie and squeal "oh my God I need that for my ringtone!" Most extras aren't worth watching, and I don't want to play some trivia game. The movie, quality commentary tracks, production stuff, and deleted scenes- that's all I really care about.
So, is all this emphasis on 2.0 capable players just a bunch of marketing smoke? It seems like getting a 1.1 capable player in the next upcoming months would be a real value.
I currently give BD-Live 3 Indifferent Shrugs out of 5.
