I get excited every time I see
Robinson Crusoe on Mars get some attention. Sorry if I'm being redundant, as I've posted this before, but this is a childhood favorite of mine from the days of seeing it in the theater with my neighborhood friends over and over and over again. Years ago, I scoured the internet looking for this movie and finally found a couple of different bootleg DVDs on ebay (which I bought both of, because I wanted to get the best version possible). I had no idea that it was released by an actual studio. Of course when I found out, I was in heaven. At that time, I didn't have a clue about Criterion or the prestige attached to their name. I believe
RCOM was the first Criterion DVD/release I ever bought. I have since upgraded to bluray.
Needless to say,
RCOM is one of my favorite Criterions ... for sentimental reasons as much as for anything else. I might be biased, but I still think it's a fun movie.
