Default Terrestrial Broadcast or OTA is Clearly the Best!

Hello

I am not certain how you are polling, but if it is by reply; then this is my vote.

Definitively, it is OTA.

I have watched about 8K/hrs of terrestrial broadcast on many receivers over the years, and it is truly remarkable, the quality of OTA. Of course, the receivers differ in quality, as expected, with some simply terrible.

For a year, I concurrently had Direct TV as well to compare with OTA. While Direct TV was generally fine, the OTA was noticeably better. [I have subsequently learned that Direct TV broadcasts at a lower resolution than OTA; making sense of the difference. Dish Network is interesting at this point, but so far, I have not been in a position to compare it to OTA.]

Cable, with Comcast, is simply unacceptable. It is terrible, with many individuals that I have encountered, indicating that it is not really much different from the Standard Definition [SD] signal quality. Whenever I see it on rear projection or flat panels, it appears to be very poor; akin to a low quality analog signal. Of course, I am comparing to a pristine high quality OTA Signal that I watch daily on a high quality calibrated display with the highest quality HDTV Tuners, making things quite easy for me to observe differences.

Well, perhaps this is far more of a response than requested/required, but it is my simple frame of reference relative to your polling, so my apology if it is too much.

Thank You
