This can be argued and disputed over and over and over again, but Boxed home theaters just don't really cut it in the long run and it has been said for a long time that SONY'S internal transformers and power supplies are just not (electronically) clean.
The problem with buying a system like this is the automatic honeymoon phase that happens when you set it up and start enjoying and then the ultimate let down when you visit someone who has taken time to build a proper system. You will hear the difference and it will most likely bug you in the long run.
On the other hand, you can use this box system to build a better system a couple of speakers at a time and then eventually get a nice receiver.
I call that the Audiophile DrugMule method.
Either way my friend...make a choice and stick to it.

agreed, i would not buy a HTIB, just MO. buy a nice receiver for $400, then slowly buy front floorstanders, center and sub.
