Blu-ray Forum - View Single Post - Will blu-ray discs play on the PS3 on a SDTV?

I am just wondering since I have a PS3 and plan on upgrading to an HDTV in the future and if I could just buy the movies on blu-ray to begin with that would save a lot of money in the future. Is this possible to play them on a SDTV? Sorry if I sound like a moron.
