I'm not sure how the digital copies work with the upgrades. I know the physical copies of the Ps3 version comes with a code that you use to get the digital copy of the PS4 version.
But providing that you can do the same with the digital copies of the Ps3 version, turning it into a Ps4 version as well, then yes. That $10 credit can be used for anything in the store.
