I used to read comics years ago, but I wasn't deep into it. I think it's safe to say that assumptions were made on both sides without really seeing the other's point of view. To each their own, as they say. It's possible to enjoy a comic book movie without ever reading the comic book. But there is something to be said for seeing your favorite comic book hero hit the big screen and to have knowledge of their backstory prior to the movie coming out. Hopefully there are no hard feelings and I apologize for my remarks.

Now…back on topic….
I appreciate the civility of your post. On a similar note, to anyone excited for the movie who isn't usually into comics, I would strongly recommend reading the newer Bendis series of Guardians of the Galaxy. It is only on issue 7 or so and it is much easier to get into than any of Marvel's other canon ridden space stuff. Anyways
