Sadly I saw the same thing in an Xbox 360 forum I used to regular. People turning a blind eye to widespread disk scratching, hardware failure before even a years use and some replacement consoles dead right out of the box.
Mine? How about the tilt switch not determining if the console's vertical or horizontal so the 'top left' ring of light quadrant wouldn't settle in one position. The official USB WiFi adapter randomly not being detected and sometimes still not being detected after a reconnect. Disk scratching starting with Gears of War and lastly (but this may still be the case) stuttery transition animations in the Dashboard. I'm still a Windows user so the last one didn't surprise me all that much.
That mixed with all the tearing and poor framerate performance I was experiencing in third and even first-party games was what pushed me away from having once been a strong supporter of Xbox. I still look back at the original console very fondly and Rare are one of my favourite developers so I haven't completely cut myself loose from the 360. It's just sitting unused along with my Wii until those Rare/Nintendo classics maybe get released.
