If your HDTV has an HDMI connection then you should have no problems at all.

If your HDTV has a DVI connection I'm not 100% sure, but I think it shouldn't be a problem either.

If your HDTV only has an analog connection it should still work, but the signal could get down-converted from 1080p to 540p (still 50% better than 480p which DVDs use) depending on if the studio that released it is using the optional Image Constraint Token (ICT) to protect against analog piracy. So far no studio has come out publically and stated that they will use it, I believe the only studio to state their position is Sony Pictures which has stated that they won't use it on their releases for the foreseeable future.
