Should I get a stand-alone blu player as my second player, or should I get another PS3? I have the 40 gig one and was thinking of getting the 60 gig one for the ps2 backward compatible ability.
DVD upconversion isn't absolutely the be all, end all. I have about 300-400ish DVD's, but I'm mainly watching blurays.

I was in the same boat as you. I changed my mind about 5-6 times. I decided to get a Sony S350 SA player........then I decided I didn't like the ugly blue color. So then I decided to get a Sammy UP5000 because I have 22 HD DVD's to go along with my BD collection. So I ordered one, then got spooked because of playback issues I had read about. So I canceled the order and started shopping for the LG BH200. I stalked ebay for about 2-3 weeks waiting for the right deal. I bid on a few, but never won an auction. So then while going with my Dad to purchase his PS3, I thought.........hey, maybe I should just get another PS3. I was about to pull the trigger, but decided that I didn't want two of them. So then I decided to pull the trigger on a Panny BD-30, but felt like $499 is just too much for a secondary player. I was growing increasingly impatient. But decided, if I have to wait, I should just wait for the Panny BD-50. But $599 just seems way to much money for a secondary player. Then out of the blue, I saw the Philips BDP7200 player online for $334.00. I mulled it over, and decided to order it. I obviously felt like the BD-50 would be a more featured, superior player, but for about twice the price? I didn't feel I would get TWICE the enjoyment for TWICE the price. (Especially for a second player) Sorry, that was long.......I'm sure I lost most of you.

There are also several other players being released soon. There should be one out there for you at your chosen price point.
