Dual-format high-def player in more stores
I am surprised with all the problems that I have heard about the LG BH100 according to the following article it is selling very well.
That being said it has a better picture quality then any current Toshiba HD-DVD player when viewed on a display that accepts 1080P/24 signals.
Here are just a few problems with the LG BH100.
It does not support 1080P/60 over HDMI. Most 1080P displays are 60HZ only. It is really great that the LG supports 1080P/24 but some people were upset that there was no 1080P/60 support.
The LG BH100 also does not support interactive features and menu displays for HD-DVD discs. This is the reason I would not purchase this combo.
If Universal Studios would just start releasing movies in BLU-RAY there would be no need for combo players. When working combo players appear on the market that play both formats without major problems then combo players will be very popular. For those interested in a combo player to play Universal Studios HD-DVD discs I would recommend waiting for one to be released that works correctly with HD-DVD discs. Samsung this fall is suppose to have one for under $1,000 that should run circles around the LG.
